Raspberry Ketone

Evolution Slimming

People know and use Raspberry Ketone for a long time now. anyway we decided to research this product so you can look at it close is you want to try it for weight loss.

Raspberry ketone is a chemical from red raspberries (Rubus idaeus). It is most commonly used for weight loss and obesity. It is also used to increase lean body mass. Some people apply raspberry ketone to the scalp to improve hair growth.

Raspberry ketone is also used in foods, cosmetics, and other manufacturing as a fragrance or flavoring agent.

Raspberry ketone became popular for weight loss after it was mentioned on the Dr. Oz television show during the segment called “Raspberry ketone: Miracle fat-burner in a bottle” in February 2012. Even though it is touted as a “miracle” for weight loss, there is no reliable scientific evidence that it works for improving weight loss.

How does it work?

Raspberry ketone is a chemical from red raspberries that is thought to help for weight loss. Some research in animals or in test tubes shows that it might increase some measures of metabolism. It might also affect a hormone in the body called adiponectin. However, it is important to keep in mind that there is no reliable scientific evidence that it improves weight loss when taken by people.

According to this Raspberry Ketone will help you boost your metabolism which result in weight loss. Still there is not enough research data to proof it.

Raspberry ketone is a natural phenolic compound that is the primary aroma compound of red raspberries.

Occurrence

Raspberry ketone occurs in a variety of fruits including raspberries, cranberries and blackberries. It is biosynthesized from coumaroyl-CoA.[4] Extraction of pure raspberry ketone is usually 1–4 mg per kg of raspberries.

Preparation

Since the natural abundance of raspberry ketone is very low, it is prepared industrially by a variety of methods from chemical intermediates. One of the ways this can be done is through a crossed aldol-catalytic hydrogenation. In acetone and sodium hydroxide, 4-hydroxybenzaldehyde can form the α,β-unsaturated ketone. This then goes through catalytic hydrogenation to produce raspberry ketone. This method produces a 99% yield.

Uses

Raspberry ketone is used in perfumery, in cosmetics, and as a food additive to impart a fruity odor. It is one of the most expensive natural flavor components used in the food industry. The natural compound can cost as much as $20,000 per kg. Synthetic raspberry ketone is cheaper, with estimates ranging from a couple of dollars per pound[8] to one fifth of the cost of natural product.

Putative health effects

Although products containing this compound are marketed for weight loss, there is no clinical evidence for this effect in humans. The average estimated daily intake of dietary raspberry ketone has been estimated to be 0.42 mg/kg/day. Early studies in rats looking into the potential toxicity of raspberry ketone found no effects on the body weight of rats with doses up to 100 mg/kg, 238 times greater than the estimated intake for humans or 0.01% of body weight. A more recent study demonstrated that when mice were fed very high doses of raspberry ketone, up to 20 g/kg, 2% of body weight or 4761 times greater than estimated human intake, there was a statistically significant prevention of high-fat-diet-induced elevation in body weight. The high dose effect is reported to stem from the alteration of lipid metabolism, increasing norepinephrine-induced lipolysis and fatty acid oxidation in cultured adipocytes.

Nutritional supplement manufacturer Andrew Lessman criticized and countered sensationalized media and marketing claims about raspberry ketone’s purported weight-loss benefits and strongly cautioned against its use.

Safety

Little is known about the long term safety of raspberry ketone supplements. In 1965, the US Food and Drug Administration placed raspberry ketone on generally recognized as safe (GRAS) status for the small quantities used as a food additive.

And here is what some well known doctor says about it:Evolution Slimming

Research has shown that raspberry ketone can help in your weight-loss efforts, especially when paired with regular exercise and a well-balanced diet of healthy and whole foods.

Raspberry ketone is the primary aroma compound of red raspberries. This compound regulates adiponectin, a protein used by the body to regulate metabolism. Raspberry ketone causes the fat within your cells to get broken up more effectively, helping your body burn fat faster. The recommended dose is 100mg per day. To get the same benefit from the whole fruit, you’d have to consume 90 pounds of raspberries.

Research on your own, and try it for yourself February 9, 2013

I watch the Dr.Oz show quite often and saw this product of Raspberry Ketones suggested as a safe and effective fat loss supplement. It is very difficult for me to just believe things that have great reviews on T.V or online, so I ordered it to try myself after a lot of research. Firstly, I needed to change my mindset before taking….they don’t work if you are not willing to work. I go to the gym three times a week and run two times a week for 4 miles. I try to eat healthy, small meals throughout the day to curb my hunger and to bring up my metabolism. I started taking the supplement on the first day, and kept to my same routine. It works as a stimulant, and helped me lose twice the weight I was losing before taking these. I had no negative side effects and I truly feel healthier (it’s a weird feeling that, but I can describe it as my body was feeling great) I’ve suggested it to some friends of mine, so we can work on it together. I realize taking new supplements can be scary because it’s so easy to be “scammed” into a product; Raspberry Ketones are the way to go though, if you are looking to lose more weight while your healthy eating habits stay the same…try this product!
